Problem: Error on startup

failed to initialize multimedia library

Seems to related to recent W10 updates

Hi,

Please try following steps to see if they can help:

Uninstall audio driver.
Restart your computer.
Install the latest audio driver from the hardware manufacturer.

No effect.
Also uninstalled/re-installed ActivePresenter. Same error for revisions 6.1.6 and 7.3.2.
Uninstalled graphics card and restarted. No effect.

Hi,

It should be Audio Driver, not Graphics Driver.

Hi @phuongd I have the same problem - with microphone (not graphics card.)
Mic works fine with other apps. ActivePresenter issue only.
I’ve tried the above steps. (Uninstall driver, restart, reinstall driver.)

Hi Voodoo,

I am sorry but we still have not found out the reason for this problem yet. It is a machine-specific issue that we can not reproduce in our tests to analyze.
One of our users reported that creating a new Windows account can resolve the issue. This is not a good solution but I think you may want to try.

Program crashes while starting up. Reboot laptop and attempt to start program, same results. Crashes for version 8.1.1 and 8.2.0

Your issue seems to be different from the one which people are having here.
Did you see the error report dialog appears after crashing? If yes, please fill your email address in and let us know so we can know it is reported from you.
