Problem: I have completed hours of edits and downloaded the completed project to my computer, and when I go to reopen the project I receive this automated notice.
2024-08-26 13:05:43: Resource file not found: C:\Users\info\OneDrive\AEP 2024\MOD 1\Module 1 - Adoptive Parentingcompleted_files\10018_Module 1.mp4
2024-08-26 13:05:45: can’t open file ‘’ (error 0: The operation completed successfully.)
The file location and timing for each slide is still visible, however the video and audio content is not working or accessible.
ActivePresenter version: Standard Edition Version 9.1.5 - 64-bit build
ActivePresenter is a desktop-based application so it’s recommended to install and work with it locally on your computer rather than using a network drive as @gregs suggested.
Since you also emailed us about the issue, I’m responding here to help others who might encounter the same problem.
ActivePresenter automatically creates an external data folder named in the format PROJECT_FILE_files if the resources (audio/video files) exceed 50MB.
When you copy, rename or move the project file (.approj), it’s important to do the same with this data folder to avoid encountering the “Resource file not found” error.
So, could you please check again if you copied the external data folder when transferring the project file to your network drive?
If you’re experiencing the error while editing the projects on the network drive, please send us the project files along with their external data folders, as shown in the image below, so we can attempt to recover the files for you.
