**The free voices in ActivePresenter are pretty ‘robotic’ to say the least. I’m not sure I want to install an Ai program on my machine or sign up to an online Ai system because I don’t want to rack up lots of credits..
Is there another option for me because I really wan’t to use realistic voices in my future projects.**
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
I"m using the top version of Active Presenter 10.6.
Hi Kevin! Could you let us know which voices you’ve tried and found robotic?
The free voices are the SAPI5 voices included with Windows, which can sound less natural. The cloud voices available under AI > Cloud Voices use AI credits.
For more realistic narration, I’d suggest trying Nova, Shimmer, or Coral for a female voice, or Onyx or Alloy for a male voice, under the built-in OpenAI Text-to-Speech provider. OpenAI voices also let you choose a speaking style or set a custom style to better match your project, for example, a friendly, conversational tone or a more formal narration style.
Thanks once more for your help. I’ve taken your advice and am now using Microsoft’s Azure, it’s the most feature packed natural voices package at a cost-effective offering.
