TTS no longer working with version update

Problem: My version has been updated from 9 to 10, and now my text to speech microsoft azure voice that is set to Natasha AU is not working. The voiceover is now a man robot voice!

OS: Windows

It looks like ActivePresenter 10 handles cloud voices differently from version 9, so the Azure voice saved in the old project may no longer be linked correctly. When that happens, it seems to fall back to a Windows system voice.

You could try this workaround:

  1. Open AI > Cloud Voices.

  2. Check whether Microsoft Azure Text-to-Speech is listed. It may appear as (Custom) Microsoft Azure Text-to-Speech.

  3. If it is missing, click the + button, choose Microsoft Azure, and enter your Azure Subscription Key and Region.

  4. Select English (Australia) and click Update Available Voices.

  5. Remove the old Natasha entry from Added Voices, if it is still there.

  6. Add en-AU-NatashaNeural again, select the newly added entry, and click OK.

  7. Select the new Natasha voice in the Text To Speech section and test it with Speak.

If you are using closed captions, select one caption node and click Apply To All after choosing the new voice. You can also use Set As Default for newly added captions.

If it is a text object, select the new voice and generate the audio again.

I would try this on a backup copy of the project first. Previously generated audio should remain unchanged; this mainly affects speech generated again from the original text or captions.
