Problem: I’ve created an interactive slide with an image of 5 steps in a process flow. Over that image, I’ve placed 5 click boxes. When the learner clicks a box, it should show a corresponding shape with details about the selected step.
I’ve tried this six ways from Sunday and cannot make it work. I tried rollover, hidden, states, layering, etc. When I preview, I usually get nothing. Once I got the first text to appear but none of the others. The Next Page button also doesn’t seem to continue the presentation.
I am sure I am missing some tiny checkbox, but I don’t know what it is. Any suggestions for a longtime developer, new to AP?
Pardon my crude example but something along these lines?
Feel free to study my file.
I created a single shape with five states for the information panel and created an onClick event to show the matching state.
I have not had any troubles with preview.
If you open my file and do a preview and are not able to smoothly see the text change for each of the five steps on the left - I would suspect a browser issue.
It works fine for me.
Another possible issue if you’re not getting the sort of response is if you are utilizing the timeline and there are pauses / jumps to various parts of the timeline. These can often snare many and finding them can sometimes prove difficult. I prefer not to use it and all is event driven rather than time driven.
Also - I am using an older version 9.1.2 as I do not have issues with it for my usage. I would think a version difference would be less likely an issue with your preview or more people would be speaking up on it.
