Slide advances on hotspot click

Problem:Clicking on a hotspot on slide progresses to blank screen

ActivePresenter version:10

OS:Windows

Notes:

I’m learning and trialling AC10 and so far so good but I hit a snag.

Scenario: Slide has an image of a room. Multiple hotspots using shapes with no fill and border. One of them is a lamp that has a variable attached (True) meaning it is on. The user interacts with the hotspot over the lamp. On click the lamp variable should flip (switched off) and the energy level should go down by one (if the lamp variable is true). Upon clicking on the lamp hotspot (or any) advances the slideshow to a blank screen.

Why does it trigger the progression?

How to prevent it?

Can I disable the timeline completely because it just causes problems? I always have to worry about forcing a slide pause or unticking autoadvance.

Hi,

Please double-check whether your action advances to the next slide when the hotspot’s correct.

If the issue persists, kindly send us the project file (just one slide with the problem) so we can take a closer look at it. You can attach it here or send to support@atomisystems.com.

Hi

It is a bit of a different use of hotspots. They are shapes with no fill and no border. It has an attached variable which is true or false. On click, the variable should flip.

The slide advance happens even when I click on the slide. (Auto slide advance is disabled, no slide advance action has been set up yet.)

The project file is 40 MB and I can’t send it in an email. I can’t attach it as I am a new user. When can I attach a file here in the forum?

Thanks

Hi, if the files are large, please upload your project file to a cloud storage service such as Google Drive or Dropbox, then share the download link with us.
