[Planned] Zoom timeline around current position, rather than left edge

Currently, the timeline zoom button zooms in on the left edge of the visible portion of the timeline.

It should instead zoom in on the current timeline cursor position, if one is set.

The current behavior makes it so if you are working e.g. near the center of the visible window, then zoom in, your cursor position often zooms off the right edge, and you either have to scroll to find it, or use the arrow keys to reposition it so it’s automatically scrolled back into view.

Thanks!!

Hi,

We will try to improve this feature in future updates.

I would like this, perhaps by adding a new zoom icon that implements it?

I too would like to see this feature added. I find it very frustrating, when trying to zoom in on an item in the timeline that has a short duration and therefore difficult to see, only to have it scroll out of view altogether when I zoom in.

A zoom based on either the selected object or on a clicked point on the timeline (which would also facilitate sound editing) would be great!
