How to use button to create animation

Problem:
I am trying to create a play button to start a simple animation (red box moves from left to right). However, I can’t get the button to work.

Because I am new, it will not let me upload the file.

Timeline:
On 1st frame: I have a play button and a red square (no animation)
On 2nd frame: I have a play button and the red square (animation starts)

1. On Scene Event Handler (Scene 1): I selected Pause Timeline, Main Timeline
   which stops the animation.

2. I click on the play button: Event Handlers: select play timeline: Main Timeline

I have been looking at tutorials, but I am still stuck.
I would appreciate any suggestions.

Hi,

You can achieve that with some simple clicks in Saola Animate.
Please follow the instructional steps below:

• Add the red square box to a new timeline - an interactive timeline (Use Multiple Timelines in Saola Animate 3 - Atomi Systems, Inc.) and create animation for it as you want.
• Set up an event-action to the Play button (Use Events - Actions in Saola Animate 3 - Atomi Systems, Inc.) (select the Play button > click on Event Handlers > select the Mouse Click event in the pop-up dialog > Timeline > Start Timeline > select the timeline that stores the red square animation)
