How to 'hide' mouse-click and markups when exporting to video?

Problem: I have recorded a ‘simulation’ which includes switching between PPT slides and software I am demonstrating.
Each click creates a little pop-up indicating which button or action I have taken. When exporting to a slideshow - this will be useful. However, when exporting to a video - I don’t want them to show.
I have found the ‘eye’ icon on the timescale for the ‘shape’, the ‘Cursor’ and the ‘mouse click1’ objects and I have turned them ‘off’ - i.e. cross through the eye.
However, when I export they are still visible. How do I get them to not show?
For some I can ‘delete’ the object but for others I’ll want them so I can export to PPT or other static-media.

ActivePresenter Standard Edition
Version 9.2.1 - 64-bit build. (Released: 2025.02.13)

OS: Win11 (24H2)

Notes:
I thought it worked previously. I found a new button ‘select all slides’ - and tried to turn off for all slides (I’ve c400 slides - with the intention of turning on for selected slides) which might have broken it.

Hi Paul,

You can set up to hide the smart annotations when exporting your recorded interactive simulation to video.
1. Before recording.

  • Access the View tab > Object Settings > Shapes/Incorrect Message > Properties pane > deselect the Demonstration mode.

  • Save the settings as a custom theme to reuse across projects: Design tab > Save Current Theme.

  • Start Page > select the saved theme > Record Interactive Simulation

Kindly refer to this video for more information:

2. After recording.

If you finish recording with multiple slides, follow the steps below:

  • Access the View tab > Object Settings > Shapes/Incorrect Message > Properties pane > deselect the Demonstration mode.

  • Click the ActivePresenter button > Project > Batch Operations > Delete Objects > tick the Shape/Incorrect checkbox > specify the slide you want to delete.

  • Click the ActivePresenter button > Project > Batch Operations > Insert Objects > select Shape from the dropdown. By doing so, the smart annotations will appear when exporting to HTML5. But they won’t be shown in your exported video.

Hope that it helps you.
