Dear ActivePresenter Support Team,
I have a question regarding font usage within a project. During development, I added text using certain fonts but later replaced them with different ones. Now, even though I’m no longer using the original fonts anywhere (as far as I know), they still appear to be part of the project.
When exporting, I noticed there’s an option to embed fonts, but I prefer not to include unused fonts at all.
My questions are:
- How can I completely remove unused fonts from the project?
- Is there a way to locate where a specific font is still being used, if it exists somewhere in the project?
Any guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
Best regards,
Hi,
Please find my answers regarding your questions about font usage below:
- Removing Unused Fonts:
Currently, ActivePresenter does not automatically detect and remove unused fonts from a project. Fonts may still be embedded if they were used at any point in the project, even if the visible content no longer references them.
- Locating Fonts in Use:
In this case, you should manually review the whole project to identify lingering font usage. You can check the slides, slide masters, feedback layers, object states, closed captions, etc.
BR,
Thank you for your reply.
Even though I carefully checked every part of my project (slides, slide masters, feedback layers, object states, closed captions, etc.), the font still appears to be embedded during export.
I did manage to find a solution, although it’s a bit manual and time-consuming:
I opened the .approj file in a text editor and used Command + F to search for the font name. Once I found the reference, I went back into ActivePresenter and located the corresponding element in the project to remove or update it.
It’s not the most straightforward method—but unless you’re a wizard, this seems to be the only reliable way to track down hidden font usage
Best regards,
Thanks for the detailed follow-up, and for sharing the solution you found.
That’s a creative (and yes, slightly wizard-like
) workaround!
We’ve noted this experience to explore ways we might make font tracking and cleanup more intuitive in future updates.
