Plan to use Player für a presentation, but found no information on existing hotkeys or using a remote to steer i.e. forward and backward and pause, without sitting and using a mouse.
Is this possible, there is no information in Help & forum on Player hotkeys.
Good morning, Wiese.
Currently, we do not support hotkeys for Player settings.
But you can set up event-action to control the presentation player without using a mouse.
For example, using the On Key Press event with suitable actions and conditions. Take a look at the image below for instance:
So, if you press Z on your keyboard, the presentation will be paused.
You can add this event to the master layout in Slide Master (View tab > Slide Master) to apply the event, actions, and conditions for all the slides in your working window.
Hope it helps.
BR,
Thuy
Will try, but already sounds like a perfect solution, many thanks,
best regards,
Wiese
It sounds like you’re looking to control your presentation without using a mouse. Most presentation software has basic hotkeys:
- Spacebar – Play/Pause
- Arrow Right/Left – Move forward/backward
- Esc – Exit fullscreen
- F5 – Start presentation
For remote control, you can use a wireless presenter (like from Logitech or Targus), which typically has buttons for forward, backward, and pause/play that work with most software.
If your software doesn’t support this, you can try tools like AutoHotkey (Windows) or Karabiner-Elements (Mac) to customize your own controls.
