Exclude graded questions from pass condition / Feedback for Polls

Hi,

I’m building an e-learning with two types of questions:

  1. Graded questions (end quiz) – must contribute to the pass/fail result
  2. Graded questions (mid-course knowledge checks) – should NOT affect the score, as learners can skip them via a direct-to-quiz button on the start slide

My concern: If a learner skips the mid-course questions, will unanswered graded questions block the completion or count as incorrect – even if set to 0 points?

Is there a way to fully exclude specific graded questions from the pass condition and LMS tracking?

Second question: I’m using graded questions (not polls) for mid-course checks because polls don’t allow defining a correct answer. Is there a native option for polls instead of defining correct answers and to show inline feedback per answer option using variables and custom buttons – without the native feedback layer. Is there a recommended approach for this in ActivePresenter, especially for question types like sorting/drag & drop where custom buttons are not a viable replacement?

Thanks

Thanks in advance!

Hi Kozure,

You can keep using graded questions for your mid-course knowledge checks.

To exclude them from the final quiz result and LMS tracking, simply uncheck Report ID for those questions (Properties > Interactivity > Score & Reporting > Report ID).

Questions without a Report ID are not included in reporting, so they won’t contribute to the quiz score or pass/fail result. This also lets you continue using the built-in correct answer validation and feedback provided by graded questions.

Best,
Hoa
