Decorative images from PowerPoint import with Auto Generate Label enabled

When I import a .pptx into ActivePresenter, images that were marked as decorative in PowerPoint don’t keep that setting. After import, every one of them has “Auto Generate Label” turned on in Properties → Accessibility, so I have to manually go through every image on every slide and turn it off again.

Please tell me how I can fix it?

Hi,

Currently, ActivePresenter does not preserve the Decorative setting of images when importing PowerPoint files. PowerPoint and ActivePresenter handle some accessibility properties differently, so not all properties are carried over during import.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Hoa

OK. Thank you for your response. That’s a shame. I understand. However, in this situation, the fact that AP has the option to generate descriptions enabled by default makes the work significantly harder. It has to be unchecked for every single element. The opposite would be much more convenient — meaning automatic generation should not be enabled by default. It essentially comes down to the file name (?), which becomes garbage for a screen reader.

Hi Artur,

Thank you for your feedback. We understand how inconvenient this can be, especially when working with presentations that contain many images.

We will change this behavior so that Auto Generate Label is not enabled by default for these imported images. This fix will be included in the upcoming release.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Hoa
