cmi5 compatibility and configuration

Problem: How to configure export in cmi5 compatible format?

ActivePresenter version: ActivePresenter Free Edition
Version 10.1.1 - 64-bit. (Released: 2026.01.30)

OS: Win11

Notes: I am evaluating Active Presenter with the free version. I see references in promotional materials that AP is compatible with cmi5 however I can find no options to create an export file with an embedded cmi5 manifest file at the zip root folder, only the xapi manifest. The LMS I am working with is Open Edx which currently has a third party cmi5 import component (tested and functional) but does not have an xapi import component. Open Edx analytics components that come with the platform can consume and generate dashboards and graphs of xapi statements. So I would like to know if and how AP can export an xapi zip with a cmi5 manifest. It may be that I need to write a manifest and insert it into the zip file. If so please advise on proper format and any explicit code required for Active Presenter. Thank you very much for any assistance and advice. Richard

Hi Richard, welcome to the community :waving_hand:

To clarify, ActivePresenter currently supports exporting to xAPI (Tin Can) and SCORM (1.2 and 2004) formats only. There is no built-in cmi5 export option at this time.

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

Best regards,
Hoa

Thanks for your quick response. Are there plans to develop a cmi5 export option at some future date? Also, do you have any advice for coding a cmi5 manifest file that can be inserted into the zip? Do you believe this would work? I think I have found a possible solution to try but wanted to ask first if your developers had any insight into how to do this. I didn’t see any reference to cmi5 in the customer forum.
