I used to be able to import wav files directly into active presenter but for some reason it won’t let me since the latest update, can anyone help? It says the file format can’t be determine.

It seems you have dropped the wave file into Timeline pane. Please try inserting the file from ANNOTATION > Audio > From File…, or drop it into Canvas to see if the problem occurs or not?
