Audio Length Unknown Prior to Recording

Problem: When I record audio I don’t always know the exact length of time it will take to record. Is there a way to not have audio cut off until I end recording then have that be set to the length of the slide?

Hi Cory,

There are 2 cases that can cause the audio cut off:

  1. Use the Record Narration button on the Timeline pane to record.
If you perform in this way, firstly, you have to drag the slide duration to the position where you want your recording to end. If not, when the slide ends, the recording also stops.

You can use the Record button in the Properties pane to overcome this issue. (Insert tab > Audio > Create New > Click the Record button on the Properties pane.)

  2. Record audio in the Record Software Simulation mode.
In this mode, after you perform any action like a mouse click or keypress action, there will be a slide created accordingly. Audio is still being recorded but split along with each slide. Therefore, your audio recording must match every action when you record.
