API to support automated translation

Dear ActivePresenter team,
we already have established a workflow to do semi-automated translations (for 18 languages):

  • Export XLIFF from master approj file, usually English version
  • Translate XLIFF using DeepL
  • Create a copy of master approj file with a file name which contains the target language, e.g. MyTraining.DE.approj
  • Extract TTS voices used in closed captions of target approj and change them to the mapped TTS voices for the target language
  • Open target approj and import XLIFF
  • Run batch operation to convert closed captions to audio
  • Optional: adjust time line objects to fit changed duration of audio

Those steps have to be re-done manually for each target language when a (small) change is done to the master approj file.

We could fully automate this process when ActivePresenter would provide an API for these functions only:

  • Export XLIFF for a given set of options
  • Import XLIFF
  • Run batch operation to convert closed captions to audio

Best regards,
Martin
