AP 7.5.6 - lost ability to record system sound

I have been using AP to successfully record music software tutorials and all of a sudden it has stopped recording system sound. I can hear the sound on my audio system; I have its output selected as input to AP; but when I try to record it the track in AP is blank. Track info for the audio track in AP shows track file name greyed out and 00:00:00 time.

It was working then literally stopped working overnight. Perhaps a Windows 10 update took place and messed something up?

I have tried changing all the audio settings in Windows, the settings in AP and even reloaded the audio driver, rebooted, etc. Still no system sound is getting into AP. The microphone input - from the same audio I/O device - DOES work and records in AP.

Here’s the latest log info. I am using an M-Audio 24-bit audio I/O device for sound.

Never mind - I solved this.

I was using the ASIO driver for my sound device which, by design, bypasses the Windows core processes. That was making the system sound invisible to ActivePresenter.

I changed the audio driver to a Windows system sound driver and now it works.

Hi,

It sounds good. FYI, ActivePresenter can only record system sound in Windows system that uses WASAPI audio driver.
