I’m going to feel really dumb if I just missed this somehow, but is there a preset way to shuffle the positions of objects at runtime other than the quiz choices?

It seems that you want to shuffle the questions’ answer options.
If so, just select the answer area > Properties pane > Interactivity tab > Score & Reporting section > check the Shuffle Answers option.
