Problem: How to remove a shadow from object when another object appears

ActivePresenter version: 10.5

OS:Windows 11

Notes:

Hello,

I have a small issue I wonder if someone could advise me on. I have a closing slide in which a logo appears with a drop-shadow is added. I want the shadow to be removed after an interval, just before a text object appears.

I know it can be done through events / actions but I cannot work out how. At present, I have the logo duplicated, one with a shadow on top of the other without, then after an interval I hide the first. Not the most elegant but at least it works, but it does have a content overhead.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Ian

Thank you for your question.

You can achieve this by using a second state for the logo, so you only need to
use a single logo object instead of duplicating it.

Please follow these steps:

1. Select the logo.
2. Go to View \> Object States.
3. Add a new state for the logo and remove the drop shadow from this state.
4. Close the Object States view.
5. Select the slide and open Events - Actions in the Properties pane.
6. For the On Load event, add the Delay Next Action action and set the desired
interval.
7. Add the Change Object State action, then select the logo and the state
without the drop shadow.

With this setup, the logo will initially display with its drop shadow. After the
specified interval, it will automatically switch to the state without the shadow.

Best regards,

Thanh

Hello Thanh,

That works perfectly, thank you. (the transition is a bit blunt, but I can live with that). For anyone trying something similar, please note that the change does NOT show on the canvas preview: you must select ‘Export / HTML Preview / Preview Current Slide’ to see the result.

Now I also know how to use Events/Actions properly.
