Problem: Trying to record software demonstration, I click record, the countdown begins but freezes on 1. I’m able to stop recording, so the program itself isn’t freezing, and it has no other effect on the program, but it won’t actually record anything because it’s stuck on 1.

Hi,
According to the log, you have recorded screen with dimension 2560x1440 (maybe with a Retina display). Unfortunately, the current version of ActivePresenter doesn’t support such high resolution. For Retina display, it should be smaller than 2047x2047. For normal display, it should be smaller than 4095x4095. So, please use a smaller recording dimension instead. We will try to support higher resolution in the future.

Hi. I am encountering exactly the same error as mentioned - I try to start, and the countdown timer gets stuck at “1”. Again, not frozen, because I can cancel the recording, but the actual screen capture never starts. I have used the program regularly before, and I haven’t changed my setup (Microsoft Surface Pro 3 on Windows 10, using a blue Yeti USB microphone. I’ve copied the logs of Atomi Activepresenter below. It looks like because you’re using too long paths. The default maximum path limitation on Windows is defined as 260, including the terminating NUL invisible character while your file path is 270 characters.
Starting in Windows 10, version 1607, MAX_PATH limitations have been removed. However, you must opt-in to the new behavior by changing a registry key.
To enable long path behavior set the registry key at: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem\LongPathsEnabled (Type: REG_DWORD).
Value 0 means disabled, 1 means enabled.
