When I do an action of “show object” the “hide after” button is selected by default. Is there a way to change this default to be not selected? I never need it and it just takes an extra click.

Unfortunately, there is no option to do that. However, if you usually use a repeated object pattern, please take a look at the Object Template feature to see if it suites your needs (https://atomisystems.com/tutorials/ap7/creating-using-object-templates/)
