Active Presenter failing to save video after update

Problem: after updating to the latest version of Active Presenter, it is unable to save long sessions (~28 min). I tested with ~15 seconds and everything works fine, but the actual video I tried to record is simply missing with the error message:

2021-05-15 20:31:26: Failed to copy the file ‘C:\Users\marku\AppData\Roaming\ActivePresenter\temp\rl_20210515_200219_pcwfc2f3mg_files\10000_Video_001.mkv’ to ‘C:\Users\marku\Documents\ActivePresenter.ActivePresenterCachedProjects\Untitled_files\10006_.mkv’ (error 5: Access is denied.)

I looked in the temp directory, but there is no “rl_20210515_200219_pcwfc2f3mg_files” there. The short test I made is there though, and was copied successfully to the target folder, so it should not be an actual “access denial” problem…

Any way to recover the files or have I just wasted time…?

ActivePresenter version: 8.4.0

OS: Windows 10

Notes: Everything was fine before the update, so I’m sending the link for the log containing the update + trials (due to restrictions on #chars here)

Hi Marcos,

Maybe ActivePresenter is not allowed to write to Document folder so this issue occur.
There’s an issue with the ransomware protection of Avast Antivirus which wrongly blocks ActivePresenter 8.4.0. We’re contacting them for this false-positive case so that they can fix it on their end.

If you use Avast, you can add ActivePresenter to its whitelist to overcome this issue.

About recovering your files, they’re deleted from temp folder so it’s not possible to recover them, unfortunately.
